FAQs

FAQs

The duration of the corporate photoshoot depends on the number of headshots needed, the location, how many people are getting their headshots done and how many final images they want. While some may want to get the shoot done quickly, others may want to take their time to get the right photo that compliments everyone.

It is important to speak with the photographer to discuss the details and duration of the shoot before booking.

Similar to the previous question, the cost of a headshot shoot depends on several factors, such as the location, number of headshots desired, level of editing or retouching needed etc. The average cost of a corporate headshot photoshoot is anywhere between $500-$1000+.

When booking a headshot shoot with me, I want to know a bit more about your company, your values, and why you’re looking to have new headshots taken. It is also important to know the timeframe in which you’d like to take the images, if you have an office space we can use, and if you’d like to have a team photo taken as well.

For my corporate clients, I usually provide them with 1-2 headshots, which will allow for various images to be used across platforms such as LinkedIn, social media etc. For individuals, I may provide up to 15 professional portraits.

Yes, having a corporate photograph of yourself is definitely worth it. It is a great way to showcase who you are in the business world and shows that you take your professional presentation seriously.

Many factors need to be considered when choosing your outfit for your headshot, such as avoiding patterns or anything that takes the attention away from your face, sticking to neutral colours, and wearing professional attire instead of casual, baggy clothing.

If you're unsure what to wear to the shoot, bring multiple outfits and try out the different styles to see which outfit works best!

At the end of the day, you want to feel confident, embodying the professionalism you have and want to convey to others.

There are no rules about whether you should smile in your headshot. Smiling can make your headshot build trust and make you look more approachable. However, the smile should be genuine and not forced.

During your shoot, speak to your photographer about what is the best way to show off your real smile in your headshot.

Personal Message

My goal is to ensure you feel at ease and self-assured in front of the camera, effectively showcasing your unique personality and unwavering professionalism. Being someone who generally prefers to operate behind the lens, I understand the potential discomfort of being photographed. Throughout the session, I'll maintain an engaging conversation, striving to create an atmosphere of ease and familiarity. This environment will allow your true self to shine, reflecting in your authentic expressions.

It's my aspiration that you not only feel comfortable during the shoot but also empowered. This newfound confidence in front of the camera has the potential to extend its radiance into your professional endeavors. A headshot has the remarkable capability to infuse you with confidence, project an image of success, and serve as a stepping stone towards fruitful job interviews or expanding your client base.

Photoshoot Locations

In Washington, D.C., you have a range of captivating options for headshot locations. Hidden gems like Lincoln Park and Stanton Park offer a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the bustling monuments. While these parks might have some visitors, their tranquil corners provide perfect settings for capturing your ideal headshot.

For a truly iconic and sophisticated touch, consider the National Mall and Monuments. If your aim is to project professionalism and seamlessly blend with D.C.'s business landscape, the monuments serve as a powerful backdrop. Be mindful of potential crowds, though navigating them can yield rewarding results.

At my studio, a charming blend of backdrops awaits you, including a 1906 brick wall, pristine white brick wall, and a simple white backdrop. Opting for the clean white backdrop can amplify your presence, particularly when dressed in vibrant attire, creating a captivating contrast that ensures you stand out.

What Happens at a Corporate Headshot Shoot?

Before

I begin by understanding the purpose of your headshot, whether it's for LinkedIn, a business card, a website, or social media. This insight guides me in crafting the composition to align with both your style and the platform's requirements.

We'll discuss background options in advance, a pivotal aspect. If you're inclined towards an outdoor setting, I'll inquire about your preferred location. I often recommend early morning or late evening shoots to capitalize on softer natural light. For studio sessions, timing is less crucial due to the controlled lighting environment. My studio offers a white backdrop and a brick wall for diverse looks. Corporate settings prompt me to scout well-lit, unobtrusive backdrops.

While location matters, your attire takes precedence. Choose clothing that echoes your personality and professional image. The aim is comfort and confidence. Solid colors are advised, while neon hues or those that clash with your skin tone are best avoided. Patterns are acceptable but kept subtle to ensure your face remains the focal point.

For shorter haircuts, getting a trim a few days prior strikes the balance between a fresh cut and overly grown hair. Those with longer hair should arrive with their preferred style, armed with products or tools if needed. Curly hair can benefit from extra products for outdoor shoots to combat frizz.

To secure your booking, I request a deposit comprising half the total fee upon scheduling. The remainder is settled on the day of the shoot. Considering variables like weather, I recommend setting a rain check date, especially for outdoor sessions.

During

Arrive at the shoot location dressed impeccably and self-assured. Bring touch-up essentials like hair products or a jacket.

I'll guide you through poses that complement your physique, outfit, and personality while harmonizing with your surroundings. If wind disrupts your hair, I'll assist in a manner that aligns with your comfort level.

Expect glimpses of the shots during the session, enabling you to provide timely feedback on composition and direction.

After

Post-shoot, I undertake minor retouching to smoothen skin, address blemishes, and fine-tune details. This enhances your natural charm while retaining authenticity.

Your finalized headshots will be delivered within 5 business days, often sooner for smaller packages of 1-3 images, with a typical turnaround of 24 hours. These images will be conveniently sent via email.
